Course Description

Heartsaver AED, a comprehensive course for the First Responder, is designed to teach CPR, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FAOB) to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace.  It is specifically designed for lay rescuers who are required to obtain a course completion card -a credential- documenting completion of a CPR AED course.

This course is the preferred course to teach integrated CPR and AED use to all lay rescuers.  It is ideal for teaching participants in public access defibrillation (PAD) programs.  Course participants commonly include security guards, firefighters, police, commercial airline crews, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, and other lay responders who have access to an AED.

4 Hours of instruction -2 year renewal.  Written and practical exams are required.
